Sandestin is located in South Walton County on Florida’s Northwest Panhandle. It’s about a 5 to 6 hour drive from downtown Atlanta out I-85 and then through some rural Alabama towns. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is a 2,400-acre (9.7 km2) destination resort in Miramar Beach, Florida, located between the Gulf of Mexico and the Choctawhatchee Bay. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers visitors the complete resort experience, from tennis and golf to pools, spas, and family-friendly fun.
Sandestin was built on undeveloped land but was designed to look like it had grown out of a historic fishing village.
It’s important to note that Sandestin Resort is not Destin, FL, nor is it Sand Destin (just one D). Sandestin is a development located in Miramar FL between Pensacola and Panama City Beach, about eight miles east of Destin.
The resort community of Sandestin offers 1,300 charming accommodations, all surrounded by some of the finest beaches in the world. With golf courses, world-class tennis facilities, pools, marinas, shopping and dining, Sandestin offers luxury, adventure, relaxation and plenty of fun. Home of the only marina in the area and the vibrant Village of Baytowne Wharf, Sandestin plays host to numerous festivals and events. For those seeking great food and retail therapy in Sandestin, Grand Boulevard features both in a lively town center. And the recently opened Northwest Florida Regional Airport makes it easy to reach this Florida Panhandle vacation destination.
Sandestin has over seven miles (11 km) of beaches and bay front, four golf courses, 15 tennis courts, 19 swimming pools, a 113-slip marina, children's programs, a fitness center and spa. It also includes a zip line, carousel, ropes course, and bungee jump.
Sandestin is the beach neighborhood for those who want a little bit of everything: you can have a true resort experience or use it as home base while you explore all that the area offers. If you want to relax on the beach, golf championship courses, spend a day at the spa and eat at award-winning restaurants, you can do that all in one place here.
Sandestin has two conference centers – Linkside Conference Center and Baytowne Conference Center.
The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin is the resort's central dining and retail venue, with shops and boutiques, restaurants and eateries, and nightlife.
Whether dining aboard the Solaris yacht for a dinner cruise, soaking up a sunset from the Marina Bar & Grill, paddle boarding and kayaking, or treating yourself to a spa day at the Serenity by the sea Spa, there’s no end to opportunity for fun and relaxation in Sandestin.
