Welcome to Grayton Beach, Florida
Grayton Beach is a small, undisturbed village in Northwest Florida and was the first community established in the area now known as South Walton. Grayton Beach consistently ranks among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the United States. The beach provides an idyllic setting for swimming, sunbathing and surf fishing, and is the backdrop for golden sunrises and silver moonlit evenings.
Located along the Gulf of Mexico between Pensacola and Panama City, Grayton Beach is home to a designated Blue Wave Beach and Grayton Beach State Park.

Grayton Beach State Park is one of the the most popular parks in Florida, with massive dunes, winding trails, abundant wildlife, and shimmering Western Lake, one of many coastal dune lakes gracing Scenic Highway 30A along South Walton Beaches. The nearly 2,000-acre park features a boat ramp that provides access to the lake's brackish waters for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Visitors can paddle a canoe, stand-up paddle board or kayak on scenic Western Lake to get a closer look at a salt marsh ecosystem. A nature trail winds through a coastal forest where scrub oaks and magnolias stand, bent and twisted by the salt winds. Hikers and bicyclists can enjoy more than four miles of trails throughout the pine flatwoods.
Grayton Beach State Park also offers RV and tent camping as well as cabins that can accommodate up to six people. The cabins are nestled in the pine woods but are only minutes away from the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Cabins accommodate six (6) people. Grayton Beach State Park offers 30 two bedroom, one bath duplex cabins. Each cabin is equipped with a gas fireplace (available for use November through March), central heating and air conditioning, kitchen with all your basic cooking and dining needs, screened in porch and outdoor grill. Other amenities at Grayton Beach State Park include a boat ramp, picnic pavilions, public showers and Ranger-led interpretive programs.
Grayton Beach State Park is one of the locations for the Great Florida Birding Trail. Shorebirds can be seen all along the beach. Bald eagles, osprey and other bird species are found throughout the park. Florida black bear, white-tailed deer, gray foxes and numerous other animals and birds inhabit Grayton Beach State Park.
Both surf fishing and fishing on Western Lake are permitted with the proper license. All fishing within the park must conform to regulations concerning size, number, method of capture and season.
The park offers one of the state's most pristine beaches for swimming and sunbathing.
The park offers a beach wheelchair. Please call the park ahead of time to make arrangements to use the beach wheelchair.
Domestic pets are permitted in designated day-use areas at all Florida State Parks. They must be kept on a handheld leash that is six feet or shorter and be well-behaved at all times. Pet owners are required to pick up after their pets and properly dispose of their droppings. Pets are not permitted on beaches, playgrounds, bathing areas, cabins, cabin areas, park buildings or concession facilities.
Part of what makes Grayton Beach truly unique is the local fishing guides' practice of beach-launching, which allows you to hop on a fishing charter boat launched directly from the beach.
From hiking and biking to fishing and funky finds, Grayton Beach is awaiting.
