Miramar Beach is located in the southwestern corner of Walton County, Florida. It is one of South Walton’s most fun-filled and diverse beach neighborhoods.
People often mistake it for Destin. Due to its proximity and being located next to Destin, it takes on much of that city's look and feel, with an abundance of high-rise condominiums and shopping along US 98. Miramar Beach is not as laid back as the other parts of SoWal, but there are a variety of shops, restaurants and nightlife that provide a little bit of something for everyone.
This South Walton neighborhood brings back the feel of those classic coastal enclaves. It features scenic beach roads, surf shops, fabulous restaurants, beachfront homes, and beachside resorts and condos with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to its miles of sugar-white sand, which are perfect for a day of lounging, Miramar Beach is one of the few places in South Walton where you can rent jet skis or a boat and go parasailing for a sky-high perspective on the sparkling white sand and turquoise water.
Nearby Grand Boulevard, an upscale outdoor lifestyle center, showcases brands like Anthropologie, Chubbies, Hemline, Lululemon, Lilly Pulitzer and Williams Sonoma. Fans of cinema flock to New Vision Theatres Boulevard 10 cinema in Grand Boulevard, where patrons of the Ovation Club can enjoy food and drinks along with their movie-going experience.
It’s easy to stay active in Miramar Beach as well, where in addition to golf, tennis or swimming, you can take advantage of the weather by taking a run or bike along the 3-mile Scenic Highway 98 Trail. Fans of tennis can stay at the Hidden Dunes Beach & Tennis Resort, an award-winning tennis facility with six championship clay courts and a variety of instruction options from their USPTA teaching staff.
The dining options in Miramar Beach range from Greek to American and every cuisine in between, with culinary treasures waiting to be discovered at every stop. Grand Boulevard offers plenty of restaurants to choose from, like Emeril’s Coastal Italian, Vin’tij Food & Wine, The Craft Bar and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. If beachfront dining is a must, The Surf Hut and Pompano Joe’s are known for their views and fresh seafood.
Along the coastline in Miramar runs Old 98, also known as Scenic 98, a scenic road that follows a picture perfect beach for five miles. Driving down Scenic 98 is a great way to get a view of some beautifully kept beach neighborhoods, the emerald-colored water, the sugar-white sand, happy beach goers and maybe even a few dolphins. The road has several beach parks and public accesses, so pulling off to enjoy the beach is never a problem. Scenic 98 also has several restaurants that have great gulf views.
No matter your style, you’ll soon discover that there’s good reason why Miramar Beach is a favorite stop for locals and return visitors, year after year.
